This item uses 9x9mm square amethyst gemstones, which are 23% larger than our other 002-series gemstones. We used larger stones for the amethyst items because the 9x9mm stone is significantly deeper/thicker than the 8x8mm. That additional depth gives amethyst a much deeper purple color.
